Considering this as a giant survey sim, I'm quite impressed that the team has got so many things right with the vehicles. The realism of the vehicles models is also a bit too high for my tastes. The ratio of tanks to infantry should be much, much lower. First and foremost there are an incredibly disproportionate number of tanks in the game world. More often than not, when I find them, they're on my side anyway.īeyond the technical limitations of the game, there are some other basic issues. As it is most of my time I seem to be flying or driving around looking for someone. With half of Europe as your battlefield you're going to need a lot of people participating. All of these problems combine to reduce the total number of players online at any given time. Crashes and disconnects are very discouraging - especially after you've spent ten minutes just traveling to the action.
The servers that are running are plagued by connectivity problems and lots of lag. Instead the game is divided up among different iterations of the same world. The promised single-shard world still hasn't materialized. While players are now able to connect with some reasonable chance of success, there are still lots of functionality problems. And now, a month later, the game is still plagued with serious problems. At first, it was completely unplayable - even after you downloaded the 70MB patch. And from what we've seen the game still requires another year or so of development and testing.
